College Basketball Rankings Week 7: Pitt Up Slightly In Latest Polls

In the most recent polls released on Monday, Pitt's rankings changed little. The Panthers held at No. 15 in the AP Top 25, but moved up one spot in the ESPN/USA Today poll.

The slight move up in the latter poll was due to Xavier's blowout loss against Oral Roberts. The Musketeers, however, were playing without several players including star guard Tu Holloway, for their role in a bench clearing brawl in their game against Cincinnati in their previous game.

Last week, Pitt themselves only played once, defeating South Carolina State on Saturday. The Panthers remained the only local team to be ranked. The Big East was again heavily represented with four teams in the top ten in each poll - Syracuse, Louisville, UConn, and Marquette. Georgetown also came in at No. 16 in both polls.

The Orange remained the No. 1 team in the nation in both polls and were a near-unanimous selection in the ESPN/USA Today poll.
