The 13th ranked Pittsburgh Panthers men's basketball team travels to South Bend to face their Big East rivals Notre Dame. The Panthers are 11-2, while the Fighting Irish own an 8-5 record. The game starts at 7 p.m. Eastern. It will be broadcast nationally on ESPN2.
Pitt is looking to rebound from a 59-54 loss to the Wagner Seahawks in their last game on Friday, Dec. 23. It was the first time Wagner beat a ranked opponent since 1978, and it marked the end of a nine game winning streak for the Panthers.
Ashton Gibbs leads the Panthers in scoring, averaging more than 17 points per game. He had 14 points on Friday. Pitts' top rebound man, Nasir Robinson, had nine in that game and averages 6.5 per game.
Notre Dame beat Sacred Heart in their last game, on Dec. 19, after losing to 20th ranked Indiana two days prior to that.
