Todd Graham got his first dose of recruiting as a head coach in a BCS conference and with the conclusion of signing day, we can look back and say that he did a pretty good job under the circumstances.
Graham had little time to work with and was still able to put together a decent class.
That class, however, was without many of the school’s top targets. While Pitt did get four-star DB Lafayette Pitts to switch from his verbal commitment to Rutgers, the Panthers were not able to land many of the other top recruits they had targeted.
Leading the way was five-star DT Delvon Simmons, who signed with the Tarheels. Pitt also just missed out on players such as Desimon Green, Branden Jackson, Ejuan Price, and Michael Eubank.
While it would have been nice to land one of those players, it was tough for Pitt to come in that late in the game and compete for them.
