Pitt Announces 2011 Football Schedule

Pitt has announced its 2011 football schedule. Season tickets are now available. The season will feature eight games at Heinz Field. The season will begin with home games against Buffalo on September 3 and Maine on September 10. After that, the Panthers will face Iowa on the road on September 17. Then there will be nationally-televised games against Notre Dame and South Florida. Games against UConn, Syracuse, and the Backyard Brawl against West Virginia will also be nationally televised. Also, the Panthers will face Utah again this year, this time in an October 15 game that will provide a break from their Big East conference schedule. (The Utes defeated the Panthers 27-24 in the 2010 season opener.)

It's not an especially tough schedule overall, but the out-of-conference games against Iowa, Notre Dame and Utah aren't exactly easy.
