2011 NCAA Tournament Update: Results From Saturday's Games

Other than Butler’s upset of Pitt and Kentucky’s defeat of West Virginia, here are the results of today’s NCAA Tournament games:

No. 2 Florida defeated No. 7 UCLA 73-65, making the Gators the highest remaining seed in Pitt’s Southeast bracket. From the same bracket, No. 3 BYU blew out No. 11 Gonzaga, and No. 4 Wisconsin beat No. 5 Kansas State. So all of the top four Southeast seeds advanced – except Pitt.

Elsewhere, No. 12 Richmond easily defeated No. 13 Morehead State, 65-48. No. 2 San Diego State beat No. 2 Temple in double-overtime. And No. 3 UConn knocked off No. 6 Cincinnati, 69-58.

The rest of the Sweet Sixteen field will be determined in Sunday’s games. The Southeast bracket field is set for the next round, with No. 8 Butler taking on No. 4 Wisconsin and No. 3 BYU playing No. 2 Florida, but much about the other three brackets is yet to be determined.
