Pitt's Trio Of Basketball Seniors Participating In Pre-Final Four Activities

Pitt's three seniors, Brad Wanamaker, Gary McGhee, and Gilbert Brown, are all taking part in some pre-Final Four activities in Houston. No doubt they'd rather be playing in the actual games, but I suppose this is better than nothing.

Wanamaker and McGhee will be participating in the All-Star game. Participants were chosen by the National Association of Basketball Coaches. Pitt and the Big East are heavily represented. The Panthers are the only team with more than one player participating and the Big East has five of the nine players on the East squad. Wanamaker and McGhee are joined by Georgetown's Austin Freeman, St. John's Dwight Hardy, and Marquette's Jimmy Butler. The game will be at 5:30 p.m. on Friday on TruTV.

Brown won't be in that game, but will be in the State Farm Slam Dunk Contest. The Big East is again well represented with three of the eight dunkers from that conference. St. John's Justin Burrell and Cincinnati's Darnell Wilks are the other Big East participants. The event will air at 9:00 p.m. on ESPN2.
