NFL Draft: A Look Back At Some Of The Best / Worst Pitt, Penn State, And West Virginia Picks

The Associated Press put together a pretty good NFL Draft list featuring the best and worst picks in history for each team. When it comes to local colleges, Pitt fared the best. The Panthers' Dan Marino and Larry Fitzgerald were called the Miami Dolphins' and Arizona Cardinals' best picks in their franchise's history. Pitt also did not have any supreme busts as none of their players were called the worst in any team's draft history.

Neither West Virginia nor Penn State had any players picked as a franchise's best selection (though West Virginia was incorrectly credited with Randy Moss for some odd reason). The Mountaineers' Pacman Jones was called the worst pick in Tennessee Titans history.

Penn State was 'credited' with having an astounding five picks that were named as the worst for five NFL teams. Todd Blackledge (Chiefs - 1983), Blair Thomas (Jets - 1990), Ki-Jana Carter (Bengals - 1995), Andre Johnson (Redskins - 1996), and Courtney Brown (Browns - 2000) all received the honors. The only thing more incredulous than the Nittany Lions having five players named was that they had three within seven years.

Sure, it's a subjective list, but that's still pretty incredible.
