Connecticut narrowly beat Kentucky 56-55 in the Final Four Saturday night, and the Huskies will advance to face Butler in the NCAA Championship Game.
Kemba Walker, as he usually does, led the Huskies with 18 points, while Jeremy Lamb had 12 points and nine rebounds. Brandon Knight had 17 points for the Wildcats.
UConn got on a roll about halfway through the first half and went to the locker room with a ten-point lead. Kentucky came storming back early in the second half, however, with a barrage of three-pointers, including two by Deron Lamb. But UConn managed to hold small leads throughout much of the second half, and Shabazz Napier made two foul shots with one second to go to seal the game.
The NCAA Championship Game will be played on Monday at 9:23 PM Eastern on CBS. Connecticut, which played a much tougher schedule than Butler and has a higher seed, will be the favorite.
