2011 NBA Draft: Pitt's Brad Wanamaker, Gary McGhee, Gilbert Brown Not Selected

It was no guarantee or even a probability that Pitt's Brad Wanamaker, Gary McGhee, or Gilbert Brown would be taken in Thursday night's NBA Draft. But it was possible, so for the three players, obviously it was a bit of a letdown.

All three had upside, but each had flaws as well. McGhee is a very good defender, but lacks true offensive post skills. Brown is super athletic, but wildly inconsistent at times. And Wanamaker has an excellent all-around game, but not as athletic as he probably needs to be to contribute immediately in the NBA.

In the end, though, all isn't lost. All three should have the opportunity to get into the camps of teams (assuming there's an NBA season, obviously) and impress some teams. Further, as undrafted free agents, they'll have the opportunity to choose the best fit for them.

And while none may end up on an NBA roster, each has the ability to earn a paycheck playing overseas.
