The 2011 Pittsburgh Basketball Club Pro-Am (also known locally as the Greentree Summer League) is over and three Pitt basketball players were named to the All-League team.
↵Shooting guard Ashton Gibbs, center Dante Taylor, and small forward J.J. Moore all received the honor. Gibbs, who averaged more than 30 points per game in the league was also a serious candidate for Most Valuable Player before his team lost in the final.
↵It was no surprise to see him on the All-League team, but the play of Taylor and Moore over the summer was a pleasant surprise. Both will be relied upon as big contributors for Pitt in 2011-12 and they held their own against good competition.
↵Over at SB Nation Pitt blog Cardiac Hill, I briefly explained why Pitt fans shouldn't get too excited about their good play, But all three players definitely made an impact and hopefully some of that will carry over into the regular season.
