Big East Media Day 2011: Dana Holgorsen, Todd Graham Under Spotlight

The 2011 Big East Football Media Day begins Tuesday at 9:00 AM in Newport, Rhode Island. You can watch the event online here, and you can submit questions on the conference's Facebook page or on Twitter (#bemediaday). The coaches will each speak for about five minutes beginning at around 9:15 AM. Then at 10:00 and 11:00, players and coaches will each answer questions for different groups of media.

New Pitt head coach Todd Graham and new WVU head coach Dana Holgorsen will both be at the event, and they'll each have to answer questions about their approaches to their new programs. There will be a ton of interest, especially, in Holgorsen's interview, and not only because West Virginia is widely viewed as the favorite in the Big East this year. One key topic will surely be the controversy that surrounded Holgorsen's ascendance to WVU's head coaching position. He'll probably also get lots of questions about what he plans to do with West Virginia's offense. You can also expect plenty of questions (not primarily to Holgorsen, but to lots of people) about the weakness of the Big East compared to other conferences.

Pitt will be represented by Todd Graham, wide receiver Mike Shanahan, safety Jarred Holley, linebacker Brandon Lindsey and defensive tackle Myles Caragein. @GoPittFootball is providing good updates of the event.

In addition to Holgorsen, quarterback Geno Smith, cornerback Keith Tandy and defensive end Bruce Irvin will be in attendance for West Virginia.
