The quality of Todd Graham's recruiting went up in a big way with the addition of four-star quarterback Chad Voytik about a week ago. The coach is continuing to build on that quality with two more pickups this week.
↵First, there was the news that Penn State offensive lineman Tom Ricketts was transferring to Pitt. Ricketts' parents were both athletes at Pitt and it was expected he would sign with the Panthers two seasons ago as a four-star lineman. He redshirted this past season at Penn State and was not expected to start, so while the move will provide some much-needed depth to Pitt's offensive line, it's not an immediate blow to the Nittany Lions. Ricketts will sit out this season per transfer rules and should be eligible in 2012.
↵On Friday, news broke that Graham secured a verbal commitment from Maryland linebacker Devon Porchia. Porchia was rated as a three-star linebacker by Rivals and the the site also calls him the highest-ranked linebacker in the state.
