Week 3 College Football Predictions: ESPN.com Picks Big East To Rebound This Week

After a 4-4 record last week, ESPN.com Big East blogger Andrea Adelson picks the conference to rebound this weekend. Adelson predicts a 5-2 record for Big East teams through the weekend (Rutgers is off this week).

How will Pitt fare? She says the Panthers will fall in Iowa:

Pitt (2-0) at Iowa (1-1), noon, Saturday, ESPN2. The Panthers have been inconsistent on offense and defense in their first two games. Ray Graham has been terrific, and should be able to rip off some yards against a run defense that ranks No. 82 in the nation. The big question is whether Tino Sunseri can string together enough good plays and limit his mistakes to put Pitt in position to win on the road. I am not so sure that will happen after two games in a brand-new offense. Iowa might not be used to playing against the hurry-up spread, but Pitt is not running it the way it needs to be run right now. Iowa 28, Pitt 27.

I'm still torn on the Pitt-Iowa contest and could really see it going either way. I can understand how Iowa gets the edge in her book, though, since they're at home.

Adelson's winners this week include West Virginia (over Maryland), UConn (over Iowa State), Cincinnati (over Akron), South Florida (over Florida A&M), and Louisville (over Kentucky). The other team she says will lose is Syracuse in their game against USC.
