Big East Football Standings 2012: Pittsburgh tied for 6th

Pittsburgh was off on a bye this past week, but the Panthers remained in a tie for sixth place in the Big East.

The Pittsburgh Panthers were off on their bye week this past week, but remained tied for sixth place in the Big East.

At 1-4 in conference play, the Panthers are tied with Connecticut and South Florida for the worst record in the conference. Pittsburgh has two games left in the regular season, including one against South Florida, so the Panthers will have the opportunity to move up. If Pittsburgh won both of its final two games and teams ahead in the standings have trouble, the Panthers could finish as high as a tie for fourth place.

The big story in the Big East this past week was Rutgers moving to 5-0 in conference play with its 10-3 win against Cincinnati. The win moved the Scarlet Knights to 9-1 on the season and kept them one game ahead of 4-1 Louisville in the Big East.
