Bracketology 2012: WVU On NCAA Tournament Bubble

SB Nation's latest bracketology column still has one local team, the West Virginia Mountaineers, heading to the NCAA Tournament. The Mountaineers, losers of five of their last six, are listed at a No. 10 seed.

Of course, at this point, the Pittsburgh region will be pretty lucky to get even one team to March Madness. (Not that Pitt fans will feel particularly relieved if that team is WVU, but still.) West Virginia and Pitt play each other on Thursday in a matchup that will seriously reduce the loser's tournament chances.

The Mountaineers are squarely on the bubble after losing five of six. A second loss to the Panthers in an 18-day span would put a serious damper on their hopes. Pitt's renaissance was short lived, as Jamie Dixon's team has followed a four-game winning streak with a two-game slide.

Pitt is still in the running, but it needs to be nearly perfect or have a deep Big East Tournament run to have much of a shot.
