Big East Basketball Standings 2012: Thanks To Seton Hall Loss, WVU Gets First-Round Bye

Now that all the regular-season games are over, here are the final Big East Basketball Standings. Seton Hall's embarrassing 86-58 loss to Big East cellar-dwellers DePaul on Saturday night was good for WVU, which snuck into the No. 8 spot in the conference as a result. Pitt, meanwhile, finished a disappointing 13th.

No. 2 Syracuse 17-1 30-1
No. 7 Marquette 14-4 25-6
No. 19 Notre Dame 13-5 21-10
No. 12 Georgetown 12-6 22-7
Cincinnati 12-6 22-9
South Florida 12-6 19-12
No. 18 Louisville 10-8 22-9
West Virginia 9-9 19-12
Seton Hall 8-10 19-11
Connecticut 8-10 18-12
Rutgers 6-12 14-17
St. John's 6-12 13-18
Pittsburgh 5-13 16-15
Villanova 5-13 12-18
Providence 4-14 15-16
DePaul 3-15 12-18

Because it now has the No. 8 seed, WVU will get a first-round bye and will play the winner of DePaul vs. UConn on Wednesday, March 7. Meanwhile, Pitt will take on St. John's in the first round.
