Big East Tournament 2012: Pitt, West Virginia Fail To Make Quarterfinals

The 2012 Big East Tournament will carry on Thursday with quarterfinal play, but the Pittsburgh Panthers and West Virginia Mountaineers will not be part of the action.

Pittsburgh fell 64-52 to Georgetown on Wednesday, ending a disappointing season for Jamie Dixon's squad. West Virginia squandered a late lead, eventually losing in overtime to UConn 71-67. Pitt's season may be over, as a NIT bid is in no way a certainty. West Virginia should be still be in the 2012 NCAA Tournament, but did themselves no favors with Wednesday evening's collapse.
