Pitt Recruiting Heats Up With Commit Of Corey Clement

Pitt landed perhaps its biggest recruit this past weekend in securing up a verbal commitment from Corey Clement, a running back out of New Jersey.

Clement is rated as a four-star recruit by Scout and a three-star by Rivals. More importantly than the rankings, though, he was sought after by some high-profile schools including Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Florida State.

Clement's addition now gives Pitt what could be one of the most potent running attacks in the nation when they enter the ACC (presumably in 2013). The Panthers already have Rushel Shell, one of the top running backs in the 2012 recruiting class, and promising sophomore, Isaac Bennett. The addition of Clement ensures the position should be a quality one for the next few seasons.

In addition, Clement helps to boost what was, to date, a pretty mediocre class. Head coach Paul Chryst still has work to do, but the verbal from Clement gives Pitt a bit of star power for 2013.
