2012 NBA Draft: Local Players Kevin Jones And Ashton Gibbs Shut Out

When the NBA Draft concluded, all of the local players from area colleges were left on the outside looking in.

For a player like Pitt's Ashton Gibbs, it wasn't a huge surprise that he wasn't selected. Gibbs had failed to show up in nearly every mock draft. He was a fringe draft player last season after an outstanding year, so when he struggled through a mediocre one as a senior, it really comes as little surprise that his stock fell.

But for West Virginia's Kevin Jones, the night was surely a disappointment. Jones was projected as at least a second round pick by most mock drafts and to not be taken at all had to be a bit of a surprise.

Still, both players will have a chance now as undrafted free agents and can catch on with a team's summer league roster.
