2012 NBA Draft: Ashton Gibbs Could Land In Brooklyn

Thursday night's 2012 NBA Draft saw no players from the Pitt Panthers program selected. Point guard Ashton Gibbs was the most likely candidate, but unfortunately, he didn't have an opportunity to hear his name called in either the first or second rounds.

Going undrafted makes him a free agent, but Gibbs reportedly has an offer to play for the newly-minted Brooklyn Nets according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review:

Former Pitt guard Ashton Gibbs, who wasn't selected in Thursday's NBA Draft, said he received an offer to play for the Brooklyn Nets' summer league team but is mulling other opportunities.

A senior, Gibbs is the all-time leader in three-point shooting at Pitt. He averaged 12.8 points and 1.9 assists per game in his college basketball career.
