2012 Big East Football Schedule: ESPN Announces Times For 4 Pitt Games

The Big East football schedule for 2012 is beginning to take shape. Game times are starting to come out, along with broadcast information. ESPN released 68 kickoff times on Thursday, and four of those were for Pittsburgh Panthers football games.

Pitt plays Youngstown State at 6 p.m. ET on September 1, Cincinnati at 8 p.m. on September 6, Virginia Tech at 12 p.m. on September 15 and Gardner-Webb at 3:30. The entire Pitt football schedule can be found here.

Here's Pitt Panthers blog Cardiac Hill on the information that came out on Thursday.

After traveling to take on Cincinnati on a Thursday night in Week 2, Pitt comes home for the biggest game on the home slate against Virginia Tech. Pitt will take on the Hokies at noon at Heinz Field on ESPN, ESPN2, or ESPNU. A little surprising that this game wasn't pushed to at least a 3:30 kickoff considering the relatively weak slate of games that week, but Pitt will be on national TV, so no argument here. It will be the 5th time in 2012 that Pitt will be shown on national TV, along with games against Cincinnati, Syracuse, Notre Dame, and UConn.

The remaining Pittsburgh football games for which game times and television have not yet been determined are the games against Louisville, Temple, Rutgers, and South Florida.
