Pitt's James Robinson Named As Finalist For Team USA U-18 Squad

Incoming Pitt basketball freshman James Robinson was named as a finalist for Team USA's Under 18/U-18 squad. Robinson is one of 14 players remaining after the roster was trimmed from 24 players that started out in camp.

For Pitt fans, the big recruit mentioned over the past year has been Steven Adams. Adams is widely regarded as a top five/top ten player nationally, so the attention he's getting shouldn't surprise anyone. But Robinson is quietly looking like a player with star potential as well. The four-star recruit helped lead his high school team to a 30-6 record and a No. 1 ranking in the state (No. 11 nationally). He also recently participated for Team USA in the Nike Hoop Summit and, as of right now, anyway, is generally viewed as Pitt's point guard of the future.

The roster will be trimmed to 12 so Robinson will need to beat out two more players to make the team.
