Aaron Berry, a former cornerback with Pitt, seemed to be making significant progress towards a solid NFL career. He was heading into his third season in the league after going undrafted, and was even projected by many to be one of the Detroit Lions' two starters at corner.
↵All of that came to a grinding halt, though, since Berry was cut by the team on Monday after his second arrest in the last few weeks. He was arrested in June for an alleged DUI and this weekend, he was arrested on simple assault charges. All of the details aren't out yet, but it was the last straw for the team, which has had their share of offseason issues with other players.
↵Berry is young enough that he should get another shot in the league, but nevertheless, he let a pretty good opportunity slip through his fingers by getting into trouble.
