In Tony Dorsett and John Cappelletti, Pitt and Penn State have each had only a single Heisman trophy winner in their history. But according to a recent article by CBS Sports, both rank near the top of college football when it comes to the award.
↵That's because each has had several players garner consideration for the Heisman in past years. CBS Sports assigned a total point value to schools, awarding ten points for a Heisman win, nine points for a second-place finish, eight points for a third-place finish, and so on ... all the way down to one point for a tenth-place finish.
↵Pitt ranked 12th of every school with a total of 88 points and local school Penn State ranked eighth with 99. Notre Dame topped the list with 277.
