Recruit Mike Young Commits To Pitt Basketball

Pitt received a big verbal commitment from local recruit Mike Young on Saturday. Young is a four-star recruiting according to Rivals and he'll put a boost into the Panthers' 2013 class.

His coach had only good things to say to him:

"Michael Young is a player with tremendous skill level for his size at 6-9, which gives him versatility to play many different positions," St. Benedict’s coach Mark Taylor told SNY.tv. "Michael will bring leadership and experience. He is an outright matchup problem. If they play a big man on him he will step out and play the wing position. And if they put a guard on him, he will slide to the post."

Young's final two choices were Pitt and Florida. He also reportedly chose the Panthers over other programs including UConn, North Carolina State, West Virginia, Memphis, Xavier, and more. Young helps fill a void that will be left when Dante Taylor leaves after this season. Talib Zanna will also be a senior next year and Young will help fill a position of need.
