The Pittsburgh Panthers will be seeking their first win of the season as they face the No. 13 Virginia Tech Hokies on Saturday afternoon.
Pitt has stumbled out of the gate in 2012, with a season-opening loss to FCS squad Youngstown State and a blowout defeat at the hands of the Cincinnati Bearcats in Week 2. Red zone failures doomed the Panthers in their Big East opener with the Bearcats, as they scored just one touchdown and one field goal in four trips inside the 20. The 34-10 final score was not indicative of the competetiveness in the game, as Cincinnati outgained Pitt by just a 49-yard margin.
Virginia Tech is off to a much better start. The Hokies will try to remain undefeated after victories over Georgia Tech and Austin Peay to begin their schedule.
Game time, TV channel: Noon ET, ESPNU
Point spread: Virginia Tech favored by 10 1/2.
