Penguins Get Healthier As Jordan Staal, Brooks Orpik, Arron Asham Return To Practice

Jordan Staal, Brooks Orpik, and Arron Asham are all back at practice for the Pens. Staal has an infected foot, Orpik has a sore groin, and Asham has a shoulder injury. Orpik will probably be back fairly soon, while Asham will return in a week or so. As for Staal, he could be back sooner than anticipated:

Staal, who hadn't practiced with his teammates since spring, felt good enough when it was over to proclaim that, "I think I could play tomorrow."↵

Staal didn't mean for that to be taken literally -- he acknowledged that "that's always going to be the way I think" -- but his return to the ice went well enough that he didn't rule out playing sometime in the next couple of weeks.

"I would say so," he said, adding that "I have to be smart about it."
