Penguins' Jordan Staal, Zbynek Michalek To Try To Return On Wednesday

Center Jordan Staal and defenseman Zbynek Michalek of the Penguins will try to return Wednesday against the Stars, the Post-Gazette reports. Staal has missed the whole season so far with an infection in his foot, and Michalek has been out three weeks with a shoulder injury. Michalek's return will mean that the Pens' defense will be at its strongest point this season, with Michalek and Brooks Orpik both healthy and available for the first time this year. It sounds like Michalek's return on Wednesday is a bit more likely than Staal's:

"I feel really good," Staal said after a rigorous on-ice workout Saturday at the RBC Center. "Obviously, that's my first opportunity to play. We'll see, come game-day, if I feel up for it" ...

"I felt probably the best I have so far since the injury," he said. "I'm real happy. Right now, I would say I'm good to go for Wednesday."
