Senators Vs. Penguins: Marc-Andre Fleury Records 43 Saves In 2-1 Win

Marc-Andre Fleury recorded 43 saves in the Penguins’ 2-1 win over Ottawa Friday afternoon. The Senators jumped out to a first-period lead with a goal by Jesse Winchester, but Evgeni Malkin scored a power-play goal in the second to tie it and Alex Goligoski added a power-play goal of his own in the third period. Sidney Crosby recorded an assist on the Malkin goal, and has currently scored in 11 consecutive games.

The win improved the surging Penguins’ record to 14-8-1, two points behind the Flyers in the Atlantic Division. The surge corresponds with Fleury’s return to prominence, and he came up huge again today.

The Pens have another very winnable game Saturday afternoon against the Calgary Flames, who are currently tied with Philadelphia in overtime.
