The Penguins' Sidney Crosby has been named the NHL's 'first star' for the month of November. Crosby has scored in 13 straight games and had 26 points for the month, leading the Penguins to recover from a shaky start to the season, as they're now 16-8-2. After beginning the month with three losses in four games, the Pens went 9-0-1 the rest of the month, with Crosby as their catalyst and leader. Crosby also took the points NHL points lead over the Tampa Bay Lightning's Steven Stamkos and posted a hat trick against the Calgary Flames. He's doing it all without a strong supporting cast, also, and our own Stephen Catanese says that makes Crosby the NHL's MVP so far.
↵Canadiens goalie Carey Price and Thrashers defenseman Dustin Byfuglien were named second and third stars, respectively. Crosby and the Penguins will face Byfuglien and the Thrashers on Thursday night at 7:00 at CONSOL Energy Center.
