Pens forward Max Talbot hurt his foot today at practice when he was hit with a shot. The initial diagnosis is that it's a bruise and that he could still play tomorrow against the Blue Jackets, but the Pens will keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't turn out to be something worse.
↵↵↵Talbot was injured during a deflection drill, his inner left skate boot catching a shot from left wing Matt Cooke about 40 minutes into a practice at Southpointe Iceoplex ...
↵Cooke, who expressed dismay for his involvement with the injury, described the sequence as "just bad luck."
↵The Penguins might recall a player from AHL affiliate Wilkes-Barre/Scranton for precautionary reasons, Bylsma said. They would have 12 forwards available for the game at Columbus only if center Evgeni Malkin can play.
↵
Malkin missed practice today for unknown reasons.
↵In other Pens news, a temporary public ice rink will be built in the Heinz Field parking lot and will be open from December 24 to January 2.
