Penguins Trim Roster To 30

The Penguins have trimmed their training-camp roster to 30 players, sending 11 to their minor-league team in Wilkes-Barre:

Forwards Chris Conner, Nick Johnson, Brett Sterling, Joe Vitale and Tim Wallace, defensemen Robert Bortuzzo, Corey Potter, Brian Strait and Steve Wagner and and goalies Brad Thiessen and John Curry were sent to the Baby Penguins.

Conner, Curry, Potter, Sterling, Wagner and Wallace will go on waivers and, if not claimed by noon Thursday, will report to Wilkes-Barre.

SB Nation Pittsburgh's Jimmy Rixner comments on these moves here.
