Letang Scores Two, Fleury Has Start To Forget In 2011 NHL All-Star Game

Team Lidstrom defeated Team Staal at the 2011 NHL All-Star Game by a typically absurd score of 11-10 on Sunday afternoon at the RBC Center in Raleigh, N.C.

Despite the high goal total, Team Lidstrom seemed to find much of its strength from its defensive, with the Blackhawks' Shea Weber putting up four assists and a +6, captain Nicklas Lidstrom registering a +7 and Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Kris Letang bagging a pair of goals.

Penguins' goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury got the start between the pipes for Team Staal, but will likely want to forget his start to the afternoon as quickly as possible, after giving up four goals in the first 5:41 of the game. He would settle down to stop 10 of 14 shots in his period of work, a comparatively average stat line for the All-Star Game, and leaving the game with the scores level at 4-4 after the first period.
