Penguins Schedule: Pens Play Three Home Games, Face Washington Capitals

The Pens' matchup against the Washington Capitals highlights a three-game homestand.

With the Penguins' three-game tour of Western Canada now over, here's a look at their schedule for the week.

The Pens have their home opener against the Florida Panthers on Tuesday at 7:30, and the game will be broadcast on Versus and ROOT Sports. After that, they'll continue their homestand against the Washington Capitals on Thursday at 7:00 PM (NHLNET and ROOT Sports). Then they'll have the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday at 7:00 (ROOT Sports).

Of those games, the big one is the contest against the Capitals, who have Stanley Cup aspirations. The Penguins lost three of four games against the Capitals last year and didn't beat Washington after losing Sidney Crosby to concussion symptoms. In fact, the Penguins often struggled against good teams after losing Crosby.

Buffalo shouldn't be overlooked, either - the Sabres made a number of key offseason additions, including Ville Leino.

The Pens' full schedule can be found here.
