Sidney Crosby Injury Update: Star Won't Play In Pittsburgh Penguins' Games Friday Or Saturday

Pittsburgh Penguins center Sidney Crosby returned to practice Wednesday and practiced again Thursday, but will not play Friday, Nov. 11 against the Dallas Stars or Saturday, Nov. 12 against the Carolina Hurricanes, reports Darren Dreger of TSN. Crosby declined to address the media Thursday and the team said there's been no change in his condition.

It's possible the Penguins simply did not want their star to return to the ice during a back-to-back set of games. He certainly appears to be healthy, based on one media account: According to Michael Grange, who observed Thursday's practice, Crosby "[led] the Penguins in scoring" during the session in an "unbelievable" performance.

Following their two games this weekend, the Penguins next host the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday, Nov. 15.

Crosby last played Jan. 5, when he suffered a concussion which has kept him out of action since.

Even without Crosby, Pittsburgh has won six of its last eight games and leads the Eastern Conference with 21 points; the next-closest clubs have 19.
