Penguins Vs. Sharks Second Period Score: Evgeni Malkin Continues Big Night

The Pittsburgh Penguins have been without the services of Sidney Crosby for so long that fans may have forgotten what he can do on the ice. But Evgeni Malkin stepping up in Crosby's absence has become a familiar treat, and he's doing that again for the Penguins in San Jose on this Thursday night.

Malkin scored his second goal of the night in the second period for the Penguins, and cancelled out the Sharks' lone goal of the evening so far, from Patrick Marleau, to give the Pens a 3-1 lead after the second period.

Malkin's had a hand in all three Penguins goals, and is +3 for the night.

The Penguins gave back all of their advantage in shots in the second period, allowing the Sharks to take 17 shots to their six. Both teams have fired 21 shots through two periods.
