2011 Penguins Schedule: Pittsburgh Faces Back-To-Back With Dallas, Carolina

The Pittsburgh Penguins once again have a slow week with almost a week off until their next game.

After a bounce back win over the Los Angeles Kings over the weekend, the Penguins are now charged with keeping that momentum going over a slow week, which is starting to become a reoccurring theme for them. Here's a closer look at the two, that's right just two, opponents they will be facing this week.

Their first game of the week won't come until Friday, when they'll host the Dallas Stars in a game that starts at the usual 7:00 eastern time. The Stars are 10-3 on the Season and will play two games (against the aforementioned Hurricanes and the Washington Capitals) before facing the Stars on Friday. They employ a balanced attack that has them as the seventh best team in goals per game, while also allowing the eighth fewest goals per game this year.

Then, on short rest, the Penguins will head to Carolina for a matchup with the Hurricanes. The Hurricanes have struggled this year, scoring just 2.5 goals per game while allowing almost three and a half. As a result, they have a record of just 5-6-3. They'll face the Stars and the Devils this week before they face the Penguins on Saturday.

We'll have plenty more on these games throughout the week on SB Nation Pittsburgh, but for more on the Penguins, check out PensBurgh.
