Sabres Vs. Penguins: Pittsburgh Looking To Overcome Injuries

While the Pittsburgh Penguins are feeling the effects of losing Sidney Crosby, they're also battling other injuries as they get ready to take on the Buffalo Sabres.

The Pittsburgh Penguins are trying to survive dealing with injuries to Sidney Crosby and some other players. Evgeni Malkin will look to continue his scoring streak and help the Penguins rally from a loss. The Penguins have dropped four of their last five without Sidney Crosby in the line up, who's once again dealing with concussion issues stemming from last season.

The Penguins have been without Jordan Staal and defensemen Zbynek Michalek, Kris Letang, and Paul Martin who are all dealing with injuries. The Sabres on the other hand will be looking to capitalize on the short handed Penguins and build on their 5-4 win over Toronto on Friday. "We need to get our swagger back, especially when we have the lead," left wing Thomas Vanek said. "Sometimes that's all it takes. There's no miracle to it. Everyone here is a good player, so when we get the lead we have to go for the next one and bury a team. We didn't quite do that, but I think it was a step in the right direction."
