Blackhawks Vs. Penguins Score: Chris Kunitz Goal Gives Pens Early Lead

The Penguins drew first blood against the Chicago Blackhawks thanks to a power-play goal by Chris Kunitz and currently lead 1-0.

Evgeni Malkin found Kunitz near the blue line and made a beautiful pass that led to a one-on-one confrontation between Malkin and Blackhawks goalie Ray Emery.

The power play that resulted in that goal came when Deryk Engelland laid a nasty hit to the head of Marcus Kruger, and John Scott immediately picked a fight with Engelland to avenge his teammate. Both headed to the penalty box, but the Pens got the power play. (Engelland might pay for the hit later with a suspension - he hit Scott hard, and he came off his feet to make it.)

The Blackhawks came out strong at the beginning of the game and peppered Marc-Andre Fleury with shots, some of which he was in poor position to defend. He blocked them all, though, some of them with his skate, and the Pens got through the first five minutes of the game unscathed before turning up the offense themselves.
