Penguins Lose Mark Letestu, Supply Of Centers Diminishes

Mark Letestu left practice this morning with an injury, leaving the Penguins down another center. It seems to be a knee injury, and Letestu is now using crutches. It wasn't immediately clear how the injury happened. With Sidney Crosby (concussion) and Evgeni Malkin (sinus infection) also unavailable, the Pens will now rely on Dustin Jeffrey:

Letestu had been filling in for Sidney Crosby on a line between Chris Kunitz and Pascal Dupuis. That center position tonight will be filled by Dustin Jeffrey, who had previously been summoned from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton as insurance because Crosby (concussion) and Evgeni Malkin (sinus infection) are out.

Jeffrey also is expected to take the Crosby/Letestu spot on the top power-play unit.

It's lucky the Penguins are deep at the center position, because they certainly seem to be losing them quickly. Here's hoping for a quick recovery for Letestu. Malkin will probably be back shortly, but in the meantime, the Penguins have games both tonight and tomorrow.
