The Penguins' Jordan Staal will play against the New York Islanders tonight despite receiving a match penalty in last night's game against the Rangers for punching Brandon Prust with a gloved hand:
↵↵↵Staal received a match penalty Tuesday night during a game against the Rangers in New York. That calls for an automatic one-game suspension, but it also triggers a review by the league with the option of rescinding the suspension.

You can check out the video below of Staal throwing the punch after Prust knocked over Tyler Kennedy - it's pretty brutal. Prust, who returned later in the game, sounded like he took it in stride, however.
↵↵↵↵"I think it was just all reaction," Prust told reporters. "I came in and hit a guy, he kind of came in to stick up for him. He just threw a punch and happened to connect."

Also, the Penguins have recalled Eric Tangradi from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton as they continue to deal with the absences of Sidney Crosby and Mark Letestu. It's also unclear whether Evgeni Malkin will play tonight.
