After 40 minutes, the Pittsburgh Penguins are up 2-1 over the homestanding Tampa Bay Lightning.
The Penguins struck for the first two goals, when Tyler Kennedy scored on the first power play goal of the series for Pittsburgh. Kennedy was aided by a nice screen of goalie Dwayne Roloson by rookie Eric Tangradi, playing in his first NHL playoff game.
Then, Arron Asham struck for the Pens. After scoring just 5 goals in an injury plagued regular season, Asham has already tallied three goals in four playoff games.
The Pens have easily out-shot, out-hit, out-worked and out-played Tampa, yet the Lightning are within a goal because of a great play made by, who else, Martin St. Louis. St. Louis now has four goals in the four games and has easily been the best player on the ice.
But will it be enough to boost the Lightning back in the series? Or can the Penguins hold on and take a commanding 3 games to 1 lead back to the ’Burgh. Find out when the third period starts!
