Pens And Tampa Tied At Zero After One Period Of Game Seven

After 20 minutes, there’s zero score in game seven of the Pittsburgh/Tampa game.

The Penguins power play went 0 for 2, hardly anything new for a unit that’s only scored one goal with the man advantage in the series so far. But the unit did show life and generate some chances, perhaps something to build on for the rest of the game.

One penalty that was not called when Tampa’s Mattias Ohlund drove Max Talbot from behind into the boards. Talbot stayed down for a while, but the refs didn’t call it. To make it up, Eric Brewer was sent to the box on a questionable interfernce call.

Tampa has done well to “weather the storm” of the loud Consol Energy Center crowd and the emotion the Pens are playing with. Pittsburgh will have to continue to stay out of the penalty box and attempt to get the game’s first goal in order to set themselves up for a solid finish.
