Penguins superstar Sidney Crosby was vacationing in Europe and is back in Pittsburgh, where he will soon be examined by a concussion specialist, the Post-Gazette reports. Both the Penguins and Crosby expect him to be able to return to action for the start of the next NHL season.
↵The same article reports that the Penguins will not resign Mike Comrie or Alex Kovalev. (That Comrie won't be back is no surprise - he really wasn't a factor at all this season, having missed a ton of time with a hip injury. Kovalev, meanwhile, is 38 and had lost a step since his first turn with the Pens a decade ago.)
↵The Post-Gazette does note, however, that the Pens will consider re-signing other forwards who are eligible for free agency. That list includes Max Talbot, Mike Rupp, Pascal Dupuis, Craig Adams, Eric Godard, Arron Asham, Chris Conner and Nick Johnson. The Pens have already been talking with key penalty-killer Adams. Look for the Pens to prioritize Dupuis as well.
