Jaromir Jagr's agent, Petr Svoboda says he isn't using conversations with NHL teams like the Penguins to gain leverage to negotiate a bigger contract for his client in Russia.
"It's absolutely not true," Petr Svoboda said when presented with the leverage theory. "I've heard that, but it's not true. I mean, there's always that option if things don't work out with (the NHL), but this is not about trying to get more money from (the KHL). I know Jags wants to come back to the NHL and for the right reasons."
Many Penguins fans were somewhat concerned about the possibility that, after all this, Jagr would go back to the KHL. It's looking more and more like he'll end up in the NHL, though, and if he's going to play in the NHL, the Penguins definitely should be contenders - he's a good match for their needs right now, and he still has a home in town.
