Sidney Crosby Press Conference Shuts Down Speculation About Concussion

As of 1:15 PM on Wednesday, Sidney Crosby’s press conference at CONSOL Energy Center just ended, so it’s a bit early to be collecting reactions.

Probably the most relevant one so far, though, comes from PensChat:

The hockey media needs to take a chill pill now. Sid will be back. Now stop speculating on what you don’t know

Ironically, this came two minutes after another tweet from PensChat that said that “My guess is if Crosby plays this year it’ll be in March or April.”

But the point about not speculating is right on. This offseason, it seemed like there was a new dubious news report or piece of half-baked speculation regarding Crosby at least a couple times a week. This press conference will, at the very least, shut that stuff down. Now we’ve heard it straight from the horse’s mouth.

The only problem is, we still don’t have answers, because there really aren’t any. Crosby might play this season, and he seems to think he will. But we don’t know when.
