A suddenly-struggling Pittsburgh Penguins team will face off against the New Jersey Devils Saturday night at CONSOL Energy Center at 7:00 PM.
The Penguins will be without Jordan Staal, who suffered a knee injury in Friday night's loss to the New York Rangers. It's unclear how serious Staal's injury is - Josh Yohe notes that he was "without crutches but with a limp" on Saturday, and Alan Robinson characterizes Staal's gait as "only a slight limp." In any case, though, it doesn't look like he'll play Saturday night.
Of course, that's just one more key injury to add to the pile, as the Pens have been without Sidney Crosby for weeks now. And whatever their injury troubles might be, they haven't gotten it done recently, losing three straight games against division rivals. That includes a 3-1 loss to the Devils last Saturday in which Martin Brodeur had 29 saves and Ilya Kovalchuk had a goal (on a penalty shot) and two assists.
Since then, the Devils have beaten the Panthers, but lost to the Bruins and Senators.
