The Pittsburgh Penguins (33-20-5, 71 points), winners of three of their last four games, head to Buffalo Sunday afternoon looking to continue their climb up the Eastern Conference standings with a win over the Sabres (24-27-7, 55 pts).
With a win Sunday, the Penguins would take over sole possession of second place in the Atlantic Division and also leapfrog the Philadelphia Flyers for the fourth overall spot in the Eastern Conference. Pittsburgh won a tough road game in Philadelphia Saturday night 6-4, killing five of six penalties and scoring two shorthanded goals.
This will be the third meeting between the two teams this year, but the first game played in Buffalo. The teams split the previous two contests, with the Sabres winning 3-2 on October 15 and the Penguins emerging victorious in a 8-3 drubbing on December 17. Marc-Andre Fleury saved 41 of the 47 shots he faced in those games.
Pittsburgh is 7-2-0 in their last nine trips to Buffalo.
