Penguins Vs. Avalanche: Pens Lead 4-0 At 2nd Intermission

The Pittsburgh Penguins picked up right where they left off after the first period of play, as they managed to extended their lead over the Colorado Avalanche to 4-0 at the 2nd intermission. Anything can happen in the National Hockey League, but as of right now the Penguins are well on their way to winning their fifth consecutive game.

Evgeni Malkin notched his 38th goal of the year to give the Penguins a 3-0 lead early in the period on a goal that was assisted by James Neal and Paul Martin. Richard Park's sixth goal of season pushed Pittsburgh advantage to the current score of 4-0. Park's goal was assisted by Zbynek Michalek.

Marc-Andre Fleury is looking to notch his 4th shutout of the season, and at this point in the game has stopped all 23 shots he has faced. The Penguins will look go keep up the pressure on Colorado goaltender Jean-Sebastien Giguere in the final period.
