Sidney Crosby Injury Update: Pittsburgh Penguins' Star Cleared For Full Contact Drills, Return Still Unknown

More: Crosby cleared for contact

Pittsburgh Penguins center Sidney Crosby has been cleared to take part in full contact drills according to an article posted on the Penguins official website. The Penguins' star has been out of action since Dec. 6 of last year with concussion-like symptoms and a neck injury. Crosby himself says that he has been symptom free for a few days.

I've been through this before. Contact is the big step. It's nice to be symptom free, but it's not as fulfilling until you get out there. I just want to make sure that I take the right steps here and get back out there soon

The current plan for Crosby is to try and make it through the next couple of days with contact before they make any estimation as to when he will return to game action. Crosby has played in eight games this season and totaled 12 points in that span before his most recent injury.
